Philip Huber came to America and settled as a cabinet maker. As soon as he could afford to do so, he sent for his sweetheart, Mary Hurm of his hometown of Weildorf, Germany, and they were married immediately upon her arrival in Philadelphia. They soon moved to a farm among the hills near Kelso, Dearborn County, Indiana. Six children were born to this union: Albert, Edward, Amelia, John, Mary, and Fanna.
