Champion of Women's Suffrage and Community Leader

Estella H. Barnes, a pivotal figure in advancing women's rights and societal equity in Southington, Connecticut, led a life of remarkable resilience and passionate activism. Born Lucy Estella Hills on January 30, 1847, in Albion, Pennsylvania, Estella's early years were marked by the loss of her mother at the age of six, leading her to be raised by her grandmother in Southington.
