Collier Rites Set Wednesday At Priceville

Funeral services for Rev. Joshua R. Collier, 86, Athens will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. from the Cave Springs Baptist Church in Priceville.

Rev. G.C. Morris, and Rev. I.C. Meyers will conduct the rites with interment to follow in City cemetery, McConnell directing.

Rev. Collier, who was born in Priceville and who had many friends in this area, died at his home in Athens Monday at approximately 12 p.m. following a long illness. He was the last charter member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Iva Collier, Athens; three daughters, Mrs. A.W. Nichols, Painesville, Ohio; Mrs. Hugh Terry, Decatur; and Mrs. Elizabeth Gray, Houston, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. J.H. Crow and Mrs. Mason Crow, both of Decatur; one brother, Charles Collier, Priceville; three step daughters, Mrs. L.O. Tompkins, Birmingham; Mrs. S.L. Sartain, Nashville; and Mrs. J.F. Moore, Athens; three step sons, W.H. Gulley, Decatur; R.E. Gulley, Decatrur; and J.W. Gulley, Athens; and several nieces and nephews.
