Anna Mae was a native of Earlsboro, Oklahoma and was born to Jenny Luella and Floyd Hampton. She attended school until the sixth grade. She worked doing odd jobs and had a stint as a pecan grader.
She was married to J T McDade on October 15, 1928 in Grady County, Oklahoma. The 1930 Census says she was widowed, the 1940 Census says she was married and used the last name McDade. From this marriage Anna Mae had a daughter Lapashia "Pat" McDade. Anna Mae's mother raised Lapashia.
Anna Mae was later married to William Lindsey and they had one daughter Dorothy.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, cooking and fishing.
Anna Mae had a penchant for changing her age to suit her purposes.
She was survived by her daughters Pat and Dorothy, sister Blanche, brother Woody and half-brother Cody. She died at Mt. Diablo Medical Center.
