The following obituary comes from the Adventist Review, April 28, 1983, a Seventh-day Adventist Church periodical. William was a minister in the Adventist Church.

BERRY, William O.—b. Sept. 15, 1895, in Lincoln County, W. Va.; d. Feb. 25, 1983, Turlock, Calif. After losing parts of both legs in an accident when he was 19, and spending two years in a hospital, he attended Columbia Union College and received a theology degree. He served in Virginia, Illinois, Kentucky, South Dakota, Iowa, and Oklahoma. He is survived by one son, William O., Jr.; one daughter, Vema Borba; two brothers, Edward and Mathew; five sisters, Lena Davis, Nancy Pruitt, Goldie Harvey, Mary Mooring, and Erma Scully; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
