Roy Roudebush
Roy R. Roudebush, 82, 1518 Nichel Ave., died at 9 a.m. today at at nursing home here.
Born in Fortville, he spent his early childhood in Fortville before the family moved to Lapel. He graduated from the Lapel High School in 1907.
He spent most of his life in educational work teaching grade school, high school and college classes. He was superintendent of several schools in the state and was assistant state superintendent of schools two different times. He received hi B.A. and M.A. degrees from Indiana University.
Mr and Mrs. Roudebush moved to Anderson from Greenfield and served as business manager of the First United Methodist Church, assisting Dr. WH Bramsford. He was president of the Kiwanis Club of Greenfield, past master of Hancock Lodge 101, F & AM of Greenfield and a member of the Scottish Rite.
Surviving with the widow, Clars, are two daughters, Mrs. Alice Crider of Charlottesville,, Mrs. Edith Brice of Syracruse, four grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and two nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Virgil Bjork officiating. Burial will follow in the Gravel Lawn Cemetery at Fortville.
