Lucille C. Paulson, 104, teacher and homemaker
Lucille C. Paulson, a former Baltimore resident and homemaker, died in her sleep Dec. 10 at Brooke Grove Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Sandy Spring. She was 104.
The former Lucille Crowl was born in 1892, the daughter of H. Webster Crowl Sr., a lawyer, real estate developer and member of the Baltimore City Council in the 1880s. He also was president of North Avenue Electric Railway, which operated some of the first electric streetcars in the city.
She was educated in city schools and earned her teaching certificate at Towson State Normal School. She taught in the Montgomery County school system.
In 1920, she married Dr. Christen T. Paulson, a chiropractor and Marine who was blinded while serving in France during World War I, and settled in Walbrook Junction.
She met Dr. Paulson at Evergreen, a former rehabilitation center for blinded war veterans here. He built a large practice that included a number of prominent Baltimoreans. He died in 1958.
Mrs. Paulson was a longtime member of Brown Memorial Presbyterian Church in Woodbrook.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2: 30 p.m. Jan. 7 at Brooke Grove Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.
She is survived by a son, Morton C. Paulson of Silver Spring; two granddaughters; and a great-grandson.
