Sarah H. Ledbetter was born 25 December 1848 near Aurora, Arkansas and spent her entire life in that community. She died 10 February 1925 at her home after brief illness. She was married to James W. Officer 12 August 1868 and is survived by her husband and the following children; Mrs. Francis Davis of Enterprise, Oregon, James B. Officer of Seattle, Washington, Mrs. Julia Ledbetter, Mrs. Eunice Gormley and Ben Officer of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Mrs. Annie Hodge of Hindsville, Mrs. Amanda Terral, W. R. Officer & Mack Officer of Huntsville. One daughter Mrs. Alice Worley died 16 November 1908. The deceased was converted to Christianity when she was 19 years of age and joined the Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. Hatfield and the Baptist Church and interment was made in the Huntsville Cemetery.
