Born July 15, 1931, in Peoria to Leroy and Lilly Mae Moore Earp, he married Shirley Anne Swanson on Nov. 15, 1951, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother of Peoria; two sons, David and James, both of Peoria; two brothers, Dean of Elkhart, Ind., and Leroy of Mapleton; three sisters, Mrs. Glen (Gloria) Olds of Pekin and Joyce Harper and Wanda Stone, both of Peoria; and three grandchildren.
His father and one sister preceded him in death.
A member of United Auto Workers Local 974, he was a welder at Caterpillar Inc. for more than 28 years, retiring April 1, 1992.
Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
