Effie was the daughter of J. I. and Effie Hill. She was married in 1940 in Clarksville to Benjamine Franklin Burns. Effie and Bennie had the following children: Theda Gale, Brenda Joan, Martha Ruth, John Franklin, Bennie Bruce, and Becky Burns.
Effie died in Lawton, Oklahoma.
The obit lists the following survivors: Benjamin Franklin, her husband; Mrs. Effie Hill, her mother, now of Dallas; the following children, Johnnie Burns, Bruce Burns, Theada Burns, Brenda Burns, Martha Burns and Becky Burns, all of Lawton; a brother, J. S. Hill, Dallas, and these sisters: Mrs. J. M. Mangum, Tyler; Mrs. Roy Travillion, Vernon, and Mrs. Clarence Phillips, Grand Prairie.
Services were conducted at Clarksville Funeral Home, with burial in Lanes Chapel Cemetery. Jimmy Petty, Church of Christ minister, officiated.
