Legion Guard Will Meet Body of Former Altoonan, Killed In Airplane Crash

Killed in an airplane accident at Olean, N.Y., Earl Miller, former resident of this city, will be accorded military honors today when eight members of the American Legion, Miller's "buddies" over there, will compose a guard of honor upon the arrival of his body here at 4:42 p.m.

The body will be met by the Legionnaires and escorted to the home of a sister, Mrs. J.C. Miller, 625 East Walton avenue.

Word of Miller's death was received yesterday by Mrs. Miller. Details were lacking. Surviving are his father, D.S. Miller, Huntingdon; one brother, Hirst. of Ebenezer, N.Y., and three sisters, Mrs. J.C. Miller, this city; Mrs. Jesse Shetron, Huntingdon, and Mrs. Leroy Loomis, Philadelphia.

He was a member of the First Brethren church and the Eagles, Mr. Miller served with the 47th artillery in the World War.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Miller home at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow, in charge of the Rev. W.S. Long, pastor of the First Church of the Brethren.
