28 Sept 1905 Washington Star:
Mrs. Eliza Campbell, widow of the late William Campbell, who for many years represented Washington Borough in the Board of Freeholders, died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Howard Vanover on Eat Church Street last Thursday night, mainly because of her advanced age, she had not been in good health for a long time. A month ago her condition became serious and since then she had been confined to her bed, a helpless invalid, she was stricken with paralysis, this manifested itself about a week prior to her death.
It is interesting to note that Mrs. Campbell was one of four sisters, all aged. They were Mrs. Mary Andrews, aged 84; Mrs. Henry Thompson, aged 80; and Mrs. J.C. Thompson, aged 72 - all residents of Washington. Her two brothers were Daniel Kinney of newark, Ohio, and Peter Kinney of Tobyhanna, Pa. Two of these relatives have been confirmed invalids for a good many years - Mrs. Andrews and Daniel Kinney.
Mrs. Campbell was the daughter of Jacob Kinney, who at the time of her birth lived at what is now known as Larison's Mill. She was born 75 years ago. Her first husband was Jacob Snyder of Brass Castle. He died about 37 years ago and three years later she married William Campbell. The surviving children, all by her first husband are: Mrs. Samuel Ramsey of Morristown, Mrs. Howard Vanover of Washington, and Henry T. Snyder of Washington. She is also survived by these half brothers and sisters: Samuel Kinney of Newark, Ohio, Mrs. Barbara Gould and Mrs. Emma Herrick of Larenceburg, Ind., and Mrs. Margaret Stedman and Miss Louise Kinney of Newark, Ohio.
Mrs. Campbell was one of the oldest membes of the Washington Methodist church and the pastor Rev. C.X. Hutchinson had charge of the funeral services...
