Fremont Samuel Giles (or Samuel Fremont Giles) was the son of James W. Giles and Hattie Eva Pitcher.

"Fremont S. Giles - Fremont S. Giles, 92 of Boothbay died Saturday, November 26, 1977 at St. Andrews Hospital.

He was born October 18, 1885, in Edgecomb the son of James W. and Eva Pitcher Giles. He attended schools in the area.

Mr. Giles was a lifelong member of Bay View Lodge of Masons and had worked for the town for many hears as a laborer. He was also employed as a groundskeeper for the Boothbay Playhouse for many years.

He is survived by a son, Marshall W. of Laconia, N.H.; two daughters, Mrs. Susan Pendleton of Boothbay, with whom he made his home, and Mrs. David (Flora) Jones of Barlett, N.H.; a sister, Mrs. Leona Pinkham of Boothbay Harbor; three grandchildren and four great-grand-children.

Masonic funeral services were held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, November 28 at the Simmons and Harrington Funeral Home in Boothbay Harbor with funeral services there Tuesday at 2 p.m. Burial was in Ocean View Cemetery, Boothbay."
