Claude Loren "Curly" Wideman, 96, St. Clair, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2007, in St. Clair.

Mr. Wideman was born July 25, 1910, in Richwoods, the son of Fred Wideman and wife Emma, nee Girardier.

He was united in marriage to June Lois Ritchey.

On April 25, 1965, he was united in marriage to Louise Adele "Toots" Cullen, nee Barnhill.

Mr. Wideman was a member of St. Clair United Methodist Church.

He worked as a millwright for Wagner Electric of St. Louis from 1945 to 1975.

Mr. Wideman was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Louise Wideman; one stepson, William Cullen; seven brothers, Earl, Clifford, Julius, Bert Wideman and three brothers in infancy; and four sisters, Ada Weeks, Myrtle McMullin, Blanche Lavada and Lela Compton.

He is survived by three sons, Robert Wideman and wife Connie, Ballwin, Gale Wideman and wife Jo Anne, Kirkwood, and Gary Wideman and wife Julie, St. Louis; one daughter, Brenda Steelman and husband Larry, Fenton; one daughter-in-law, Donna Cullen, Bayonne, N.J.; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 14, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair. The Rev. Allen Ladage officiated.

Burial was in Midlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Union.

Memorials to Places for People or the activity department of St. Clair Nursing Center are preferred.

The family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair.
