Clark was the son of Charles Ezra Taylor and Lillias Grieve.

He had four sisters: Hannah, Thelma, Arvilla, and Anne. He had three brothers: Howard, Russel, and Hugh.

He married Florence Mary Munn on 28 May 1931 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. They had four children.

He was a WW2 veteran and served on a destroyer.
He served as a ranch foreman in Nevada, an independent trucker, and for several companies as construction supervisor.
