He worked the lumber camps in Northern Minnesota the first two years, then later on he did carpenter work. He was well known for his carpenter wrk, which he was still doing past the age of sixty. In the later years he did berry farming.
In 1907 he married Mary Christensen, who survives him. He is survived by twelve children: Mrs Fred Leisch (Marie) of Dresser, Wisconsin, Victor of St Paul, Oscar of Lindstrom, seedolph of Medford, Minn., Mrs Virgil Cain (Lillian) of Monroe, Mich., George of Mpls, Hjalmer of Albert Lea, Carl of Dreser, Wisc., Clarence of Shafer, Arthur of Lindstrom, Mrs James Carlson (Deloris) of Shafer and Leroy of Shafer; also 27 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
On November 13 he was taken to the Chisago Lakes Hospital with a broken hip and passed away on Friday, November 27 at the age of 91 years, 9 months and 3 days.
