Matilda Roberts Funeral Rites Are Scheduled
---Matilda Ellen Roberts, 86, 0f 512 N. New, died at 1:20 Sunday afternoon in the Adair County Nursing Home, where she had been a patient since March 19.
---The daughter of Franklin and Janie Ellen Moore Bradley, she was born in Dennison, Tex. on Nov. 1, 1887. On Jan. 27, 1908 she was married to Elmer A. Hall and to this marriage six children were born. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1916. On May 31, 1917 she was married to Dillon Hays and to this marriage three children were born. He preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 1934. On Oct. 6, 1951 she was married to Walter R. Roberts who preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1962. Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Florence Mock; two sons; three brothers and three sisters.
---Surviving are six children, Clarence Hall of Riviera, Ariz.; Mrs. Pearl (Lula) Bragg of Rt. 5, Kirksville; Mrs. Gail (Janie) Mikel of 1216 E. Harrison, Elmerene Wright of Oildale, Calif.; Mrs. Harold (Rhoda) Ogle of Rt. 1, Kirksville and Isabelle Pickens of The Dalles, Ore.; ten step-children, George Hays of Kirksville, Frank Hays of Green City, Lillian Haines of Hurdland, Mrs. John (Eunice) Daniels of Kirksville, Dottie Roberts Ford of the state of Kansas, Maxine Reed and Lonnie Roberts, both of the state of California and Alan Roberts, Bill Roberts and Ben Roberts, all of New Mexico; 22 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and one half-sister, Florence Brown of Lebanon.
---Mrs. Roberts spent most of her life in the Kirksville and Goldsberry area.
---She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist.
---Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 in the Union Temple Church 15 miles southwest of Kirksville. Lonnie R. Smith, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Union Temple cemetery.
---The body is at the Davis Funeral Home where it will remain until 1:30 Wednesday afternoon when it will be take to the church.
---Bearers will be: Ron Mikel, J. C. Mikel, Terry Mikel, Elmer Bragg, Rickie Ogle and Larry Williams.
---Honorary bearers will be: Lester Earl Runnels, Ronnie Martin, Steve Lloyd, Leo Emmert and Victor Runnels.
