John W. Hawver, aged 68, retired farmer, died Wednesday following an acute illness which began Monday. He had been in failing health for some time. He was a prominent member of the Grace Methodist church and took an active part in church government and administration. He was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge.
He was born in Ohio Sept, 11, 1851 and with his family moved to Indiana. In 1869 he came to Illinois settling near Milmine where he lived for several years, later moving to Oreana where he lived until 1909 when he moved to Decatur.
In 1893 he was married in Hammond. He leaves his widow, two sons, Paul, Harold, one daughter, Helen Lucille, all of Decatur. He leaves a brother, Issac Hawver of Milmine and sisters, Mrs. J. W. Brandenburg of Bement, Mrs.Sarah Kuns of Los Angeles, Cal.
