Georgia Alice Cartwright, third child of George E. and Alice M. Reed Cartwright, was born September 23, 1895, near Decatur, Iowa, and died June 11, 1968, at the Decatur County Hospital at the age of 72 years, 8 months and 18 days.
She was preceded in death by her husband August 15, 1955, one son, her parents and three brothers. Her life was spent in and near Davis City, having lived on the family farm west of town until fall of 1939.
On February 2, 1915 she was united in marriage to Hillery L. Osborn, and to this union were born three children, Francis, Davis City; Marjorie, Los Alamitos, Calif.; and Gerald who died May 30, 1938.
Georgia was a member of Davis City Methodist Church; a 25-year member, and Past Worthy Matron of Grand Valley Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors are her son, Francis L. and wife, Freda; Marjorie Gwendolyn Murphy and husband, Bruce; nine grandchildren; three brothers: Vere Cartwright, Davis City; Carl Cartwright, San Francisco, Calif.; and Harold Cartwright, Boulder, Colo.; six sisters: LaNelle Buckingham, Decatur; Florence Fulton, Leon; Willma Cartwright, Lillian Brown, and Marguarette Warren, Des Moines; Genevieve Jones, Minneapolis, Minn.; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
