He was born 2 1/2 miles south east of Wakarusa on his father's homestead, one of nine children of Daniel and Susan Ganger Miller.
He was married to Rebecca Metzler, February 1, 1885 and three children were born to this union, two daughters and one son, Mrs Homer (Chloe) Weldy, Mrs Henry (Rose) Flory and Alvin Miller, all of Wakarusa, who survive with the widow.
He is also survived by five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers, David and Josiah of Goshen, Leander of this place and Daniel of Delphi. Preceding him in death were three brothers and one sister, Alphus, William and Joseph Miller and Mrs Henry Miller.
Mr Miller followed the occupations of a carpenter and farmer and had resided at the home east of town for thirty-three years.
He was a member of the Old Order German Baptist church for more than 60 years.
Funeral services were held at 2 pm Sunday at the home and 2:30 at the Morningstar church, 2 miles east of Wakarusa. The Rev H E Brovant of Southwest, in charge assisted by Rev Flory of near Goshen. Burial in Union cemetery.
