Frances Benway

CHARITON - Frances Joann Benway, 65, of Wilton, a former Chariton resident, died June 5, 1998, at Muscatine General Hospital in Muscatine.
She was born June 15, 1932, in Chariton. She married Harold Benway; he died in 1988.
She was a longtime Chariton resident, having moved to Wilton in 1997. She worked as a dispatcher for the Chariton Police Department.
She is survived by five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jeannie Bragg of Norwalk, Lyla Carnes and Evelyn McClure of Ankeny; and a brother, Charles Savage.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, David Benway. The service will be 1;30 p.m. today at Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton. Burial will be in Chariton Cemetery.
Family visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
