Pauline, the daughter of Clint W. and Pearl B. (Bollinger) Alford, was born in Jasper County, Iowa. She was a lifelong resident of Newton and a graduate of Newton High School.

Pauline married Bob Tabor on February 16, 1947, in Athena, KS. She worked for the Newton Police Department as a Meter Maid for 16 years. Pauline had been a member of the First Baptist Church, the Red Hat Society, the American Legion Auxiliary, a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, and a 27-year member of the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, quilting, making pottery, and playing Fast Track with her grandkids.

Pauline is survived by her children: Richard “Rick” (Midge) Tabor of Des Moines, Pam (Darrell) Smith of Newton, and Randy Tabor of Newton; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Lois Timmons of Newton; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; daughter, Paula Jean Ervin; three brothers; two sisters; and a son-in-law, Rick Ervin.
