"J.B." was the third son of parents "Julie" Julia Ann (Croft) McDaniel (1889-1964) & Burney Robert McDaniel (1885-1956) who were married a few weeks before her eighteenth birthday on 22-May-1907 in Elizabethtown, Hardin County, Illinois. He was 22. To this union, verified through Burney's obituary and the nuclear family on US Census, were born six daughters and five sons. They lived in Magisterial District Number 3, Livingston County, Illinois (1910); Hurricane, Crittenden County, Kentucky (1920); East Rosiclare, Hardin County, Illinois (1930); back to Crittenden (1940); & Chicago, Cook County, Illinois (1950), the most recent census publicly published. Her husband Burney died while they lived in Chicago in 1956 at the of age 71, and Julie moved to be with her grown children, dying at the age of 74 in Orange County where son Oscar lived, California in 1964.
Some of Julie & Burney's kids officially used the surname McDaniels, others McDaniel without the "s." The US Census had over the years of Julie & Burney's household counts, gone back & forth on with an "s" or without an "s," too.
