MR. CLEVENGER DIES IN HOSPITAL
Services for Gladstone (Jack) Cleevenger, 71, 725 First Street, will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ewing Mortuary. The Rev. Harold Garoutte will officiate and burial will be in East Hill cemetery at Rushville.
Mr. Clevenger died Saturday at 4:10 p.m. at Major Hospital. He was admitted there Friday evening after falling from a ladder at his home.
A lineman for the Southeastern Power Co. (Public Service Indiana) for over 40 years, Mr. Clevenger retired in 1965. He spent his early life in Rushville and had resided in Shelbyville since 1949.
Born in Rushville May 7, 1900, Mr. Clevenger was the son of Joseph and Katherine (Shepler) Clevenger. On May 7, 1931 he married Omar Mitchell and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Judith K. Fassold, Shelbyville; a stepson, Omer Newcom, Coldwater, Ohio; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Shin, Indianapolis, Mrs. Catherine Theobald, Rushville, and Mrs. Frances Nicholl, Woodville, Washington, and two brothers, Charles A. Clevenger, Santa Cruz, California, and Harvey Clevenger, Indianapolis.
