IVIE&@151At her home in West Saltriver township, Thursday morning, February, 24th, Mrs. Melissa Ivie.
She was born in Jessamine county, Ky., June 3d, 1818, and came with her brothers and sisters to Monroe county, Mo., when fifteen years old. At the age of twenty-three, she married and with her husband moved to Adair county, where she resided till her death. She was a member of the Baptist church. Her funeral took place Friday at 10 o'clock after which the remains were laid to rest in the Waddill cemetery. Having lived a faithful, christian life she was prepared to go, and in her last moments pointed her weeping children to the way beyond.
