-- MORRISDALE - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Johnson Funeral Home, Grassflat, for A. Irene Houston, 91, of Morrisdale RD, who died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at Windy Hill Village of the Presbyterian Homes, Philipsburg.
Pastor John W. Chambers will officiate. Interment will be at Messiah Baptist Cemetery, Kylertown.
Friends will be received today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and tomorrow from 10 a.m. until the hour of services at the funeral home. - Born Dec. 4, 1913, at Kylertown, she was a daughter of Edward and Bessie (Mames) Rothrock.
She was a guest at Windy Hill Village of the Presbyterian Homes at Philipsburg. She had resided at Philipsburg with her granddaughter, Wanda McDonald, prior to entering the nursing facility. - She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Houston is survived by six grandchildren, Edward Houston Jr. of Kylertown, Bonnie Houston of Tyrone, Gladys Rougeux of Allport, Wanda McDonald of Philipsburg, Robert Houston of Winburne and Jane Curley of Philipsburg; 12 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by a sister, Clara Rought, of Marysville, Calif., and three brothers, Rex Rothrock of Mineral Springs, Robert Rothrock of Waterford, Mich., and Jess Rothrock of Dallastown.
Mrs. Houston was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Absolom P. Houston, who died June 26, 1966; a son, Edward N. Houston Sr.; and four brothers, Clark, Burton, Kenneth and George Rothrock.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Messiah Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 155, Kylertown, PA 16847 or Windy Hill Village of the Presbyterian Homes, for A. Irene Houston Memorial, P.O. Box 551, Philipsburg, PA 16866.
