Clinton was the son of James C. and Louisa Jane Hensley Bright. He married Elizabeth, the daughter of Edmond and Catherine Elizabeth Blalock Collins, on June 4, 1888, in Sullivan County, Tennessee. Lizzie kept house and tended to their children and Clint supported their family by farming his own land.
Although Mr. Bright was only 33 years old when he passed away, he left his family with the means to maintain the farm and continue to live there. He and Mrs. Bright have a multitude of direct descendants and many of them still live in the area of Scott County, Virginia and Sullivan County, Tennessee.
