Mr. Jesse Carroll Busby, 89, of Martinez, died Tuesday, August 10, 2004, at the University Hospital following a brief illness.
The funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, August 12, 2004, at Hephzibah United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary McWhorter and the Rev. Charles Walls officiating. Interment will follow in Brothersville Cemetery.
Mr. Busby was a native of Lincoln County, Georgia, and was a US Navy veteran. He was an avid sportsman who loved the great outdoors. He was a member of the Hephzibah United Methodist Church . He was also a former member of the Lions Club. He was a former Vice President and member of the Richmond County Board of Education serving on the board from 1959 to 1976.
He was also a former Chairman of the Official Board of Hephzibah Methodist Church.
Mr. Busby founded in 1945, what is known currently as Busby's Heating and Air Conditioning.
He was preceded in death by a son, Don Busby . He is survived by his faithful and beloved wife of 66 years, Martha Dewell Busby, one son, Rick Busby, and four daughters, Carole Larkin, Kay Hogg, Frances Martin and Susan Jeffcoat, eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and his devoted caregiver, Patricia Davis.
