Funeral services for Charles Huie, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Moore and Rev. Charles Rawlinson officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Bluff Cemetery with Gerry L. Cleaver, W.L. Bowen, Tim Vaughn, Randy Steele, Dwayne Sprague, and Robert Scott Isham serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Huie passed away Monday night, July 19, 2010 at his residence.
He was born March 5, 1943 the son of Walter Felix and Effie Evelyn Stevens Huie in Sulphur Bluff.
He married Margaret Daws on November 5, 2001 in Sulphur Springs. She survives.
Mr. Huie was a retired Captain of the Sulphur Springs Fire Department.
Survivors include: daughter, Christina Parada, of Atlanta, Georgia; son, G. W. Goin, of Albany; brother, Tom Huie, of Campbell; sister, Gladine Wright, of Weaver; nieces and nephews, Billy Wright, Jeff Huie, John Huie, Laura Cleveland, and Nickie Robertson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Nickie Huie.
