Beloved mother of Judy, Norman, and Nancy Schaaf, Addie [known also as Ann] was proud of her Louisiana and Mississippi origin. Born in Kentwood, La, she moved with her family to McComb, MS at about two months of age and grew up there, graduating from McComb High School in 1938. Her father, Thomas Walter Yarborough, was a farmer in Kentwood and then a carman for the Illinois Central RR Shops in McComb. Her mother, Edna Florence Segrue, was the daughter of a first-generation American Irish father, Stephen Edward Segrue [born in New Orleans] and a French mother, Caroline Tassin, a descendant of one of the original settler families [Creoles] of Louisiana. These parents had an older daughter, Felma Julia [1918-2010] and two younger sons, Thomas Walter Jr. [1922-94] and Ted Leon [1927-1995]. Addie lived most of her adult life in Houston, Texas, where she raised her family. She was a gifted artist and loving mother.
