Mrs. Gabriel Aden (Sarah Ann Durrance) Turner (1856-1937), beloved resident of San Mateo, died Sunday afternoon in the St. Augustine hospital after an illness of several years which grew serious during the past month.
Mrs. Turner is one of the oldest residents of this community, having lived in San Mateo since her birth in 1856. Her parents moved there from Clay Hill in 1853. She was married to Gabriel Aden Turner, senior member of the board of county commissioners, on May 15, 1890.

Funeral services will be conducted from the San Mateo Presbyterian church by Rev. O. A. Newlin tomorrow afternoon at three o’clock.
Interment will be made in the San Mateo cemetery.

Pallbearers, all of them her great nephews, are Woodrow W., Samuel J. and Billy Tilton, James and Elwood Haynes; and J. A. Turner.
Honorary pallbearers are Edgar Benidict, Clarence Buckles, J. J. Southerland, Fred Carrington, Lee Thigpen, and Perry Hanna.

Mrs. Turner is survived by her husband, one brother, George Durrance of Bunnell, one stepson, Robert Turner, and a step-grandson, Bobby Turner. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd Monday, 8 Nov 1937.)
