services for Mrs. Maxie Lee Pierce Gulley, 60, were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at McCartney Cemetery at Rogersville, Ala. She died at 5:55 o'clock on Tuesday morning, May 16, at her home at Wales after an extended illness.Born April 18, 1901, in Lauderdale County, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Lonnie White Pierce and Fannie Bills Pierce. She was the widow of Charlie L. Gulley who died in 1942. She was a member of Puncheon Church of Christ.Mrs. Gulley is survived by four daughters, Miss Merline Gulley, Wales, Mrs. Lennice Hickman and Mrs. Glena McConnell, Lynnville, and Mrs. Rachel Harris, Elkmont, Ala.; one son, Joe Gulley, Pulaski; eighteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; six sisters, Mrs. E. E. Ray, Anderson, Ala., Mrs. Tillman C. Long, Athens, Ala., Mrs. L. C. Shelton, Minor Hill, Mrs. Arthur Smith, Mrs. Larimore Fergerson and Mrs. Willard Hamlett, all of Pulaski; and five brothers, Matthew Pierce, Wales, Felton Pierce, Goodsprings, Joe Pierce and Jesse Pierce, both of Athens, Ala., and Alton Pierce, Toledo, Ohio.Pulaski Funeral Home in charge of arrangements
