Eldred P. Edgy - BLYTHE ISLAND - Eldred P. Edgy, 88, a resident of Blythe Island, died February 17, 2008 in the Bayview Nursing Home in Nahunta, Ga.
Mr. Edgy was a native of Wayne County and had been a resident of Glynn County for the past 75 years. He was the owner of E.P. Edgy Panning Mill, Inc. He was a member of the Pine Ridge Baptist Church and the Farm Bureau. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during W.W. II.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Irma R. Edgy of Blythe Island, a daughter, Ann Diestel (John) of Brunswick, two sons, Charles H. Edgy and Mike E. Edgy (Kelli) both of Waynesville, Ga., step-daughter, Kathy McQuaig (George) of Patterson, Ga., a step-son, Bob Nordman (Rae) of E. Palatka, Fl., a sister, Leoma Wilson of Brunswick, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday February 19, 2008 in the Pine Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Gibbs and Rev. Ed Hurst officiating. Entombment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Kevin Diestal, Johnny Diestal, Jr., Logan Edgy, Marcus Edgy, Johnny Diestal, III, and Michael Diestal.
The family requests in lieu of flowers contributions to the Building Fund of the Pine Ridge Baptist Church. The family will receive friends in the Funeral Home on Monday from 6 to 8 PM. Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home
