Brainard Alton Fox, 92, of Port Crane, born January 7, 1911 in Binghamton, N.Y., died Thursday, December 4, 2003, at the Susquehanna Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank Phillip Fox and Carolyn Elizabeth Hills Fox; three sisters, Laura Reynolds, Elizabeth Hayes and Louise Barth; and a brother, Francis Fox. He is survived by his wife, five children and 16 grandchildren. He was a member of the Port Crane Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, and a longtime resident of Port Dickinson. He was an avid gardener and a member of the Greenman Senior Citizen Center, where he started the Senior Citizen Baseball League. Funeral services will be held Monday, 8 December 2003, at 1 p.m. from the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson, with the Rev. Ritch Grimes, pastor of his church, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
