Birth and death dates from Death Certificate Georgia 17476. Differs from Gravestone.

He joined Company C, 1st (Olmstead's) Regiment Georgia Infantry as a Private on July 30, 1862. He joined at Ft. Jackson, Georgia, for three years or the end of the war. He later appears in a List of Prisoners of War surrendered to Brigadier General E. M. McCook by Major General, Sam Jones, C. S. A. at Tallahassee, Florida, May 10, 1865. He was paroled at Albany, Georgia, on May 19, 1865.

He also has a CSA pension application under Cook County. He applied under the 1919 law in 1924 and it was approved Jan 1925. (Note his name is spelled Jessee in the record.)

On July 1, 1929, James M. McMillan (the veteran's son) made an "Application for Pension Due to a Deceased Pensioner – To be paid to the Ordinary for Funeral and Last Illness Expenses". Among the expenses were expenses for the casket (made by the local Honey and Bee Supplies Company) for $75, and the Doctor's Bill for $16.50.
