Gertrude Anklen was born at Ottertail on April 1, 1903, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Anklen. She had never married and had lived most of her life in the Ottertail Wadena community. For the past 16 years until the time of being taken ill, she had been employed at the Wadena Cafe.
Those who survive are two brothers, John Anklen of Wadena and Ben Anklen of Newport; one sister, Mrs. Mabel Andrews of St. Paul; and three half-sisters, Mrs. Marsha Stover of Wadena, Mrs. Elsie Farr of Sebeka and Mrs. Ida Maasch of New York Mills.
Arrangements were by the Messer-Johnson Memorial Home.
