Funeral service for Louis B. Kenum, 89, of Trinity will be Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Michael Mason, Rev. Steve Caudle and Rev. Phil Waldrep officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Kenum died Sunday, July 25, 2010, at his residence. He was born July 11, 1921, in Lawrence County to Percy Kenum and Laura Bryant Kenum. Mr. Kenum was a Freemason who served in the Army during World War II in Europe. He was a retired executive for Combustion Engineering credited with multiple patents in electronics, was the founder and owner of Louken Lights established in 1991, and was a member of Who's Who in Executives and Business. Mr. Kenum enjoyed the outdoors, loved traveling and fishing. He was a devoted husband and father and member of Trinity Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Laura Kenum; his stepmother, Lorine Bryant; his sister, Ovada Owens; and his brothers, Fred Keenum, Howard Keenum and James Truitt Keenum.

He is survived by his loving wife, Virgilina "Mildred" Kenum; his son, Robert Kenum; of Trinity; his brother, Loyd Keenum of Town Creek; his adopted daughter, Maria Calderon Miralde of Guatemala and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Scott Gargis, Wayne Johnson, Mike Hjelm, Alfonso Nambo, Rickey Segars and Alton Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Bennich, Jimmy Cross, Chuck Crump, Dewey Crump, John Lemley Jr., Paul McCrary, Eduardo Magallanes and Larry Owens.
