Funeral of Noted Texan Will Be Held in Waco - Southern Pacific Attorney

Waco, Tex., Sept 2. - Judge DeWitt C. Bolinger died late last night at Longmont, Colo. Mrs. Bolinger and one of her sons are on the way to Waco, accompanying the remains, and are expected here Saturday night. Arrangements for the funeral are in progress and it will probably take place next Sunday. Mrs. Banks Hudson of Anniston, Ala., the oldest daughter, and the sons who are attending school in distant States, will come to Waco to the funeral. Several southern Pacific officials will attend the funeral, which will take place at the residence of H. H. Shear. Dr. F. C. McConnnell, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Judge Bolinger came to Waco many years ago and became the junior of the law firm of Clark, Dyer & Bolinger, of which firm Judge George Clark is now the sole survivor. Two years ago he moved with his family to San Antonio because of his position with the Southern Pacific Railway. The funeral of Judge Bolinger will be a State affair.

Waco, Tex., Sept. 6 - After the funeral at the residence of H. H Shear, the remains of Judge D. C. Bolinger were followed to Oakwood Cemetery by hundreds of sorrowing friends, the procession being over a mile in length. Distinguished citizens from San Antonio, Galveston, Houston and other points attended the funeral and burial. Rev. F. C. McConnell, pastor of the First Baptist Church, was the officiating minister.

Judge Bolinger's remains were placed in a temporary vault, pending the construction of a family vault.

Information has been received in Springdale of the death of D. C. Bollinger, which occurred recently at Longmont, Colorado, deceased being the eldest son of Mrs. A. L. Thompson of this place. Mrs. Bollinger's home was at San Antonio, Texas and his family was in Colorado where Mr. Bollinger had gone to visit with them. Soon after reaching there he was taken ill with Bright's disease, surviving but a short time. The remains were shipped to his former home at Waco, Texas for interment. Deceased was born and reared in this section and will be remembered by many of the old residents. He was one of the most prominent lawyers in Texas and is survived by a widow and six children.
