DEATH OF DAVID R . ADAMS
David R . Adams passed away at the Citizens Hospital Saturday, Oct. 26th, aged 82 years, 8 months and 19 days. Funeral services were held from the Wilkes Chapel Monday afternoon, the Rev. Mr. White conducting Interment in the Old Soldiers plot, Red Butte Cemetery, L. L. Wilkes directing. David R. Adams was born in Pennsylvania, February 7, 1847. He came to Aspen the spring of 1881, residing here constantly since that time. In the early days he freighted over Independence Pass, bringing supplies in and taking the rich silver ore out. He and George T. Frost were buddies in those days, each driving a "six" and making the trips together.
For two years, 1868-9 Adams served with the 18th and 19th regiments, U. S. Regulars, and was in the Indian war With General Custer. He is survived by a son, Arthur E. Adams, and a host of friends.
