OBITUARY OF JAMES GATES-

James Robert Gates passed away at his home Wednesday morning, December 22, 1948 at the age of 71 years, 1 month and 22 days.

His death occurred following complications from an operation performed about a month ago.

Mr. Gates was married to Miss Cora Shepherd at Plattsburg, Missouri December 27, 1900. To this union two children were born, Mrs. Imo Parker of Steinauer, and one passed in infancy.

He is survived by his wife and daughter.

He was employed in Missouri for a year, then moved to Table Rock where they lived until 1920.

They then moved to a farm, where he spent the remaining years in farming until last December when they moved back to Table Rock.

Besides his wife and daughter, he leaves to mourn his loss, four sisters, one brother, four grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.
