Mr. Dahl worked for monthly wages for the first two years, saved his earnings and was soon able to lease a farm. He bought land near Jonah in 1910, had good harvests which he sold and made a good profit. He then bought a home north of Taylor. It was not only the early immigrants who were able to buy land when it was cheap, but many of the younger, later arrivals have taken advantage of the opportunities and have been able to do well. It is not necessary to say that Mr. Dahl is a good and prudent farmer.
In 1912, Mr. Dahl married Hilda Magnuson. She was born in Hjålmseryd in 1884. Her parents were Johannes Magnus and Mathilda Nicklason. Miss Magnuson left Sweden in 1903, and came to Ohio, where she stayed until 1912 when she moved to Texas. In 1908 and 1911 she visited her old home and country. Mr. Dahl also visited Sweden in 1910, and returned the following year.
Their children are: Signe, 1913; Ture, 1915; and Martha, 1917. The Dahls are members of the Swedish Methodist congregation in Taylor.
