H. Emerson Biddle Merritt Island H. Emerson Biddle, 96, of Merritt Island and beloved husband of the late Evelyn passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010. Mr. Biddle was born in Bryn Mawr, PA. and at the age of seventeen joined the US Army AirCorp and served his country during WW II. Staff Sgt. Biddle was shot down over Germany and was a POW for over a year and was a Purple Heart recipient. He retired from N.J. State as a Wetland Inspector and then moved to Florida in 1976. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, POW, Masonic Lodge Shriners, Caterpillar Club and the Elks. Survivors include his daughter, Sherry (Gary) Omerzu; son, Bruce Biddle; 8 grandchildren, Christine, Vicky, Jeffrey, Phillip, Steven, Andrew, Brian and Paul. He is also survived by 16 great- grandchildren and 2 great- great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Monday, July 26, 2010 from 6-8 PM, fol lowed by funeral services Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 10 AM at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Brevard Memorial Park.
