George Mason III, his mother was Mary Fowke b. 1668 Port Tobacco, Charles, MD. d.1704 Stafford County, VA. She was the daughter of Gerard Fowke and Ann Thoroughgood Fowke. George II and Mary were married in 1688 in Accotink, Fairfax, VA. George Mason III was the father of George Mason the IV, one of our Founding Fathers, who was highly influential in the writing of the Constitution and the basic author of the Bill of Rights which were taken in whole except for small changes in wording from the Bill of Rights he had previously written for Virginia.
