Deseret News, Obituary: Floyd Hans Rasmussen, Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001. Floyd Hans Rasmussen passed away December 24, 2001 at home. He was born March 12, 1914 to Jens Edward Rasmussen and Sarah Jane Darrington in Declo, Idaho. He married Roberta Haycock in the Salt Lake Temple Sept. l8, 1940.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta; his parents; one brother, Joel; and one grandchild, Wade Hutchings.

He is survived by his six daughters; Sheila Rasmussen, Suellen (Richard) Wilson, Carol (Roger) Hutchings, Ruth (Kenneth) Steadman, Gwenda (Ray) Eastman, Colleen (Dennis) McKnight; his sister, Roberta Jones; three brothers, Ralph, Elmo, and Robert; 22 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. A member of The LDS Church, he served in many callings, including bishop and High Council. His knowledge and understanding of the gospel were a blessing to many. Floyd served for several years in the U.S. Army. He began his married life as a farmer in Idaho and then worked as a miner in Lark, Utah for over 30 years. He also worked for the Gallager Company and Beneficial Life until his full retirement in the late '80's. Viewing Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001 from 7-9 p.m. at Deseret Memorial Mortuary, 36 East 700 South in Salt Lake City, and also one hour prior to service at the ward. Funeral service on Friday, December 28, 2001 at 11 a.m. to be held at the Pioneer Stake Center, 1401 West 700 South. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
