Obituary: Juanita I. Dames-Briggs

PENDLETON - Juanita I. Dames-Briggs, 84, of Pendleton died Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Willowbrook Terrace in Pendleton. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 23 at Skyview Memorial Park in Pendleton.
Mrs. Briggs was born March 28, 1926, in Newberg to Floyd and Mabel (Reed) Burkett. She married Peter P. Dames in Lewiston, Idaho, in 1945; he died in 1991. She later married Noel L. Briggs in Pendleton in 1993.
Survivors include her husband, Noel Briggs of Pilot Rock; daughter Ellen Rader of Tukwilla, Wash.; sons Mike Dames of Pendleton, James Dames of Bentonville, Ark., Keith Dames of Pilot Rock and Gordon Dames of Hermiston; brothers Ralph, Clifford and Elmer Burkett
and sister Edith Barlotti, all of the Willamette Valley; and numerous
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Peter Dames; brothers Fred, Gordon and Lester; and sister Alice.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
