Sarah was born 18 September 1859 in Chapman Township, Snyder County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Jacob Thursby and Anna Mary Stephen. She married Wesley Asbury Browning around the year 1884.
Wesley and Sarah lived the majority of their lives on the land they owned near Elkhart. Sarah died of a stroke.

BROWNING - Mrs. Sarah Catharine Browning, wife of Wesley Browning, died at her home in Cleveland township yesterday afternoon aged 53. Last Saturday she suffered a stroke of apoplexy. She has been a resident of the county for 45 years and is survived by three sons, two daughters and several brothers and sisters.
