Funeral services for Mr. Walter J. Hyles were held Wednesday, May 6, 1976, in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Hyles passed away in a Hamilton nursing home on Monday, May 3, at 5:00 p.m. after an extended illness.
He was born to Walter John and Mary Frances Noah Hyles on May 5, 1891, in Hico, TX, and was married to Bonnie McAnelly in September, 1943. His usual occupation was farming; he was a veteran of World War I and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Mary Alice Garner, Helen Midkiff, Marie Like, Esther Massingill, and Angie Dennis; two sons, Clifford Hyles nd James Hyles.
Two children preceded their father in death--Opal Florence and Jessie D. Hyles.
Also surviving are two step-sons, J. D. Bailey and Charles Bailey; one sister, Ida Coston; and one brother, "Bud" L. P. Hyles.
Pallbearers were Mayhew Watson, Walter Simmons, J. T. Anglin, George Banta, Charles Coston, and Ed Williams.
