He married Naomi Ruth Leatherman March 5, 1916. In 1920 they moved to River Styx. Survived by his wife, six sons, two daughters, his parents, three brothers, a foster sister, Naomi Buerge. One infant brother preceded him in death. His sister Ida died last spring. She was Mrs. Noah Leatherman.
