Willis Abbott married his second wife Sarah (Francis) Smith Abbott in 1866. In the 1860 census Sarah Abbott, wife of Willis Abbott, is listed as 30 years old. In the 1870 Census, Sarah Abbott is listed as 23 years old. In later censuses, the second Sarah Abbott goes by her middle name “Francis.” The following shows that Willis Abbott’s first son, James Abbott, is the son of Sarah Wilson Abbott.
