Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Kirkhart of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Tom Schofield, pastor of the Elsberry First Christian Church, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Mills, Bob Laird, Tim Hurley, Winston Bailey, Sonny Taylor, Terry Blair and Chris Bailey; and honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Hayne, Allen Davis, Trent Fay and Zachary Fay.

Mrs. Kirkhart, 87, passed away Friday evening, March 26, 2010 at her home in Elsberry. Born February 16, 1923 in Troy, MO, she was the daughter of Lowell and Helena Dyer Baker. She was united in marriage on May 18, 1947 in Elsberry to James William "Bill" Kirkhart. This union was blessed with three daughters: Mary Lynne, Sheryll Kaye and Terri Sue. She attended the Elsberry First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell and Helena Dyer; one sister, Helen Ligon; and her beloved husband of almost 58 years, Bill Kirkhart who died February 15, 2005.

Survivors include her daughters: Lynne Hayne and her husband, Chuck, of Wedowee, AL, Kaye Kirkhart of Elsberry, and Terri Kirkhart of Elsberry; one grandson, Trent William Fay of Farmington, MO; and four great-grandchildren: Kinsee Cox, Zachary Fay, Haylee Fay and Kylee Fay. She also leaves one sister-in-law, Betty Kirkhart of Elsberry; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to SSM Hospice in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343. Online condolences may be made at www.carterricksfuneralhome.com.
